Asset Management: Prepare Computer for Storage
    Issue:
Computers may not be immediately assigned after purchase or an employee's departure. Because of this the computer may not be powered on for some time and will remain in available storage until assignment/reassignment. 
Solution:
Because the computer is not assigned and may not be powered on for long periods of time, the best course of action is to place the computer's OS in a "fresh" state and prep it for re-provisioning. 
SOP:
- 
Re-install the OS on the device
 
- Do not log into or setup the computer, it should be as if the computer was brand new out of the box
 
- 
Stow the computer in a safe location
 
- Add or Update the device in FreshService inventory, setting the asset state to 'In Stock'
 
- If the computer is in PDQ, remove it
 
- If the computer is in Check Point Harmony Endpoint Protection, remove it
 
- If the computer is in ConnectWise RMM, remove it
 
- If the computer is in ScreenConnect, remove it
 
When you take the Computer out of storage
Once you are ready to assign the computer to an employee, install PDQ and deploy the standard package which will install Check Point Harmony Endpoint Protection, ConnectWise RMM, ScreenConnect, and the FreshService Agent. Set the status of the computer to 'In Use' in FreshService and update the Assignment fields on the asset.
